AI chat assistant
This site includes an AI assistant that answers questions about Kevin Shoultz's work, projects, and writing. It is an AI, not a person, and it can be wrong.
Your messages are sent, through this site's own server, to a third-party AI provider (Groq) to generate responses, and may be stored to operate, debug, and improve the assistant. There is no fixed retention window today: stored conversations are kept until they are cleared.
The chat is anonymous. There is no sign-in, and it never asks you for personal information. A random session id is kept in your browser's session storage so a conversation survives moving between pages; it is gone when the tab closes.
Please don't share sensitive personal data in the chat. To reach a human, use the contact page.
Error monitoring
When something on the site breaks, the error may be reported to Sentry so it can be fixed. Those reports are scrubbed before they leave your browser or the server, carry no personal identifiers by default, and there is no session replay: nobody is watching your screen.
Nothing else
No analytics, no advertising, no tracking cookies. The only thing the site remembers on its own is your theme choice, and that lives in your browser.
